Paul wins Network Idol
Well, our very own in-house DJ & singer never ceases to amuse.  Saturday 12th May was Itchen Ka-boom’s annual Network Idol challenge, featuring various performers from Hampshire’s network talent. And I’m not using that word loosely.
We had the distinct pleasure of sitting through some truly hilarious performances including Itchen-South Service Team’s slightly mis-heard duet renditions of Atomic Kitten – ‘You can fill my hole again’ and Beegees/Take That – ‘How deep is your muff?’. Classic.
The farce continued yet further with one particular group – I forget whom – emerging in their dressing gowns and performing the memorable ‘Eye of the tiger’ through the novel use of blow whistles. Extraordinary.
But it was our very own Paul Ridout who stole everyone’s heart, and vote more importantly, with his energetic and uplifting rendition of Abba’s own classic – ‘Does your mother know?’
I believe the phrases – ‘good stage presence’, ‘balls of steel’ and ‘that was quite good’ were used by the judges, and I think everyone agreed, it was really rather good, well done Paul!
